Travaux interdisciplinaires sur "la traite, l'esclavage et leurs abolitions" (2016)

Contemporary forms of slavery involving children

Par LOIC COCHENNEC, publié le dimanche 1 mai 2016 11:32 - Mis à jour le dimanche 8 mai 2016 21:32

Last January when we visited the Memorial to the Abolition of Slavery in Nantes, our guide insisted that we shouldn't forget many people around the world are still deprived of freedom and treated as slaves. That's why our teacher asked us to inquire about contemporary forms of slavery focusing on children.

CHILD SLAVERY TODAY

OUR TASK

On May 2nd 2016, several lectures  will be given in our highschool about the notion of race through the centuries and about anti-slavery  organizations.  You have been invited to talk about the various forms of slavery  today and more particularly about child slavery.

You will work in pairs to look for information, design  and present a flyer  that will be handed out to the participants about :

- the various forms of slavery

-child  labourers

- child soldiers

Your goal will be to sensitize the participants to those problems and to encourage them to take action.
