Middle Passage Galery - Liverpool Slavery Museum      The Middle Passage  was the name given to the second leg of the   triangular slave trade route. It was an eight to ten week journey across the Atlantic taking the enslaved Africans to the Americas in horrific conditions. Many of them died during the crossing, some took their own lives. All of them were treated like animals, but few rebelled  : punishment was deterring.

You will find here various attached articles about The Middle Passage itself, slave ships logbooks that tell us so much about slave expeditions, the story of a slave named Cinque that led a rebellion in the XIXth century and his fictitious speech written by our students.
